Humans have domesticated many animals throughout our history. However, only one has earned the title of “man’s best friend”. Dogs, more than any other animal, serve us in the widest array of roles. They are our protectors, helpers, lifesavers and loyal companions.
We have domesticated dogs to the point where they need us to survive. However, many dog owners would argue that we tend to need them just as much. Dogs are often treated as members of the family and enjoy a position similar to human children. It’s a natural connection since both humans and dogs are social animals that thrive mentally and physically from forming strong social bonds.
